After extensive development efforts, Oasis is poised to bring significant changes and improvements to the Oasis ecosystem with the release of a public Testnet client. 👇 The Oasis Testnet upgrade to Core 23.0 was successfully executed on October 12, 2023, at 10:00 AM UTC. The Oasis community should be aware that the network upgrade will unfold in two key phases: Oasis Network Testnet Upgrade (initiated on October 12, 2023) Oasis Network Mainnet Upgrade (starting after the testing period) 🔹 This latest consensus-breaking software release introduces significant improvements and new functionalities to the Oasis ecosystem. It focuses on enhancing the user experience for node operators, bolstering security, and optimizing the efficiency of specific queries. 🔹 One key addition is support for state synchronization, streamlining the process of setting up a new node without the need for manual RPC node configuration. This feature complements the peer-to-peer stack enhancement from the previous upgrade. 🔹 The upgrade also brings notable improvements to on-chain governance. It now enables delegators to participate in governance, expanding the democratic voting process for the network. Voting on parameter changes is now possible, eliminating the restriction to voting on only one specific type of proposal. 🔹 Furthermore, the network upgrade introduces major updates to key rotations for ephemeral and state keys. Ephemeral key derivation is modified to rotate the master key every epoch, ensuring that old entropy is discarded after a few epochs. 🔹 Oasis ParaTimes, crucial components of the network, have received significant upgrades across query latency, future upgrade performance, and overall performance enhancements. 👀 During the initial phase (testnet) of the network upgrade, we encourage anyone facing technical challenges or having unanswered questions to join the Oasis Discord server.
